A rare and striking original exhibition poster created for Fernando Botero's landmark retrospective Antologica 1949–1991 at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni, Rome, 1991–92. Now out of print, this oversized lithograph is a genuine collector's piece from one of the most celebrated and recognizable artists of the 20th century.
I Musicisti (The Musicians) is a quintessential Botero composition — an abundant, joyful scene of musicians lost in their performance, rendered in his signature 'Boterismo' style of exaggerated, voluminous figures bursting with life and passion. Two pages of sheet music have fallen to the floor, unnoticed by the players. The female singer, rendered smaller than her bandmates, draws the eye to the beauty of her voice amid the ensemble.
