An extremely rare and museum-quality vintage lithograph of Lighthouse by Victor Postolle — a distinguished 19th-century French artist and prize-winning graduate of the École des Beaux-Arts, Paris. Postolle entered the École in 1860, studying under Adolphe-Marie-François Jéy, the most renowned Professor of Construction at the institution between 1836 and 1871. Promoted to the 1st class in 1865, he received the first prize and was particularly noted for his exceptional technique and mastery of watercolour.
Postolle also worked with Charles-Auguste Questel, principal of an important studio that produced six winners of the Grand Prix de Rome — the highest honour bestowed by the École des Beaux-Arts. This lithograph, bearing an embossed stamp and printed on acid-free paper by Winn Publishing, is an exceptional collector's piece of 19th-century French academic art.
