An original vintage exhibition poster for Bridget Riley: Works 1959–1978, the major retrospective organised by the Fine Arts Department of the British Council, London. The poster features Riley’s 1974 acrylic on canvas Gala — a mesmerising field of undulating coloured stripes in red, blue, green and white that seem to ripple and breathe across the surface, a defining example of her mature Op Art practice.
Designed by Roger Huggett and printed by White Ink, this poster accompanied the exhibition on its international tour:

- Museum of Fine Arts, Dallas — 25 October to 26 November 1978
- Neuberger Museum, Purchase, New York — 28 January to 6 March 1979

- National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo — 19 January to 2 March 1980
A rare and collectible piece of Op Art history. Many of these posters were discarded after the tour, making surviving copies in fine condition increasingly scarce.
