A rare and historically significant fine art print by Robert Rauschenberg — one of the most influential American artists of the 20th century and a pioneer of Neo-Dada and Pop Art. Choices and Responsibilities was designed and created by Rauschenberg to promote the United Nations World Population Conference held in Cairo, Egypt in 1994.
The print exemplifies Rauschenberg's signature collage and layered imagery aesthetic: a macro and micro view of the world, with planet Earth as a whole superimposed upon an image of figures on a crowded beach. Rendered in blue, black, red, and gold tones, with small painted and sketched figures overlaid on a map of the globe. Signed in print in the bottom right corner.
